CLASS 2 - FLOWERS

NOTE:  ENTRIES TO BE PLACED THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11th,
              5:00 - 9:00 P.M. IN THE SCHOOL FAIR BUILDING.  PLEASE
              USE  RECYCLABLE CONTAINERS.  WE ARE NOT
              RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY ITEMS LEFT AFTER 6 P.M. CLOSING
              ON  SATURDAY. SECTIONS 1 - 11 OPEN TO ANY AGE GROUP.

               MUST BE GARDEN GROWN OR WILD FLOWERS ONLY
               Height of arrangements are taken from the table to the highest
               point.

PRIZES: $2.00, 1.50, 1.00.  sections 1 - 14
                $2.50, 1.75, 1.50.    sections 14  - 15.


SECTION

  1.  Gladiolus, l spike only.
  2.  Asters, 3 stems 20cm or more.
  3.  Zinnias, 3 large with foliage, stems 20cm. or more, (no buds).
  4.  Zinnias, 3 pompom, not less than 15cm stems (no buds).
  5.  Cosmos, 3 stems.
  6.  African Marigolds, 3 (large type) with foliage, minimum 20cm. stems.
  7.  French Marigolds, 3 blooms, (small type) with foliage, minimum
       10cm stems.
  8.  Chrysanthemums, 3 stems.
  9.  Dahlia, 1 bloom , small or large
10   Specimen Rose, any variety (NO BUDS).
11.  Mini Rose, Specimen or spray.
12   Coffee table arrangement of wild flowers (weeds)  not exceeding 25cm.
        high. Grades JK - 3. 
13Coffee table arrangement of wild flowers (weeds).  not exceeding 25cm.           
        high.  Grades 4 - 8.
14.  A dried flower arrangement in a running shoe.  Not to exceed 25 cm.
        Grades 4 - 8
15.   A decorated Fall Wreath, using dried materials.   Not to exceed 30 cm. in
 diameter.  Ready to hang.   Grades 4 - 8.

                                        CLASS 2  -  SPECIALS 

16.  BY GUTHRIE  W.I.
       Create a design in a toy using fresh flowers.  Not over 25 cm.                        
       PRIZES:  $1.75, 1.50, 1.25, 1.00, .75, .50.
17.    BY  W. R. BEST  SCHOOL
          a)  Best Sunflower, Seeded Head, 6"  stem attached.
          b)  Dwarf Hybrid Sunflower, Flower Head. 6" stem attached.
          PRIZES:  $2.00,1.75,1.50, 1.25, 1.00, .75, .75, .50, .50.

18.     BY ORO-MEDONTE  HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
          Oro-Medonte Youth Garden Club Only
          Any item made at the garden club.   (Only one entry per child)
          a)  Grades 1  - 3 .               b)  Grades 4 - up                               
          PRIZES:  $2.00, 1.50, 1.00, .75, .50, .25.     

19.    BY ORO-MEDONTE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
         A Flower Pie  - a tin foil plate filled with sand and  decorated with 
         flowers.
         a)  Grades 1 - 3.                 b)  Grades 4 - up.
         PRIZES:  $2.00, 1.50, 1.00, .75, .50, .25.

20.     BY ORO-MEDONTE  HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
          "Celebration", a table center piece to portray a special occasion.
           Example: Mother's Day, Thanksgiving, Birthday, etc.
           To use any flowers and foliage.   Not to exceed 30 cm. in any direction.
          THE SPECIAL OCCASION TO BE WRITTEN ON ENTRY TAG.          
           PRIZES: $3.00, 2.50, 2.00, 1.50, 1.00, 1.00, .1.00.
