THE GORDON BIDWELL MEMORIAL AWARD: Presented to the
student with the most points in Class 1 - Grains, Roots, Vegetables, and Fruits
 Section 1 to 42.

SECTION

1.    1 Sheaf Grain (minimum 5 cm diameter at neck).
2.    1 Qt. or litre Wheat (one entry per family) 2011 crop.
3.    1 Qt. or litre of Barley (one entry per family) 2011 crop.
4.    1 Qt. or litre of Oats (one entry per family) 2011 crop.
5.    1 Qt. or litre Soya Beans (one entry per family) 2011 crop.
6.    5 Ears of sweet corn for table - 1/3 husk removed.
7.    5 Ears grain  corn.
8.    3 Stalks ensilage corn.
9.    2 Green cucumbers, slicing 15 cm or over.
10.  5 Potatoes, white, uniform in size and clean.
11.  5 Potatoes, red, uniform in size and clean.
12.   5 Potatoes, any other colour, uniform in size and clean.
13.  5 Carrots, nantes (cylinder shape), washed not scrubbed, leave tops
            15 mm. ONLY.
14.   5 Carrots, chantenay (cone shape), washed not scrubbed, leave tops
            15 mm. ONLY.
15.   5 Beets, table size, leave tops 15mm ONLY.
16.   5 Beets, tubular, leave tops 15mm ONLY.
17.   5 Beets, Pickling size, 2 cm to 2.5 cm., leave tops 15mm ONLY.
18.   5 White Onions, not less than 4 cm. in diam., not peeled, tops 12-25mm
19.   5 Red Onions, not less than 4 cm in diam., not peeled, tops 12- 25 mm.
20.   5 Tomatoes, table type, stems on.
21.   10 Tomatoes, cherry variety, stems on.
22.   3 Sweet green peppers, uniform colour and size, leave 12 mm. of stem.
23.   3 peppers, any other colour
24.    1 Pie pumpkin.
25.    1 Pepper Squash.
26.    1 Butternut squash. 
27.  1 Squash, any other variety not listed.
28.  2 Zucchini, uniform size.
29.    1 Green cabbage, trimmed to 2 layers of sound outer leaves.
30.    1 Red cabbage, trimmed to 2 layers of sound outer leaves.
31.    Most oddly shaped vegetable
32.    Heaviest tomato, red or green.  Weight to count.
33.    The longest carrot - may include tap root fibre.
34.    Giant squash, weight to count
35.     5  apples, any variety (named).

38.     BY ORO AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY
         
Any kind of Squash. Engrave a design when it is young and watch
          it grow.

39.     CHAIRPERSON  SPECIAL
          "CREATE CINDERELLA'S CARRIAGE"
, using any
           combination of fruit, vegetables, grains, weeds, or flowers.
           PRIZES:  $ 7.00, 5.00, 4.00, 4.00.

40.   BY GUTHRIE Home & School
      1 Giant Pumpkin, weight to count.
         PRIZES:  $5.00, 4.00, 3.00, 2.00, 1.75, 1.50, 1.25, 1.00, .50.

41. BY NATIONAL BANK OF CANADA.
          A collection of a variety of 4 fresh herbs artistically displayed
          (in a container of water).
          PRIZES:  $10.00, 6.00, 4.00.

                  OPEN TO THE SCHOOLS OF ORO-MEDONTE
          To decorate one large hay bale,  "Autumn Theme".
          Contest Rules:    1.  One team ONLY (consisting of 5 students) from each  
                                              school.  ONLY STUDENTS.
                                        2.  Bale will be supplied by the fair board, all decorations
                                              required must be supplied by the competitors.
                                        3.  Decorating time will be 2:30pm Friday, September 17th,  
                                              until 4:00pm.  Judged afterwards.   
                 Prizes: $35.00, 30.00, 20.00, 15.00
